Day 01 :

Shimla to Chitkul/Sangla (225 KM | 8-9 HRS)

Your Zoom Himachal adventure begins with an early pickup from Shimla. Drive through the apple orchards of Narkanda and descend into the deep gorges of the Satluj Valley. Enter the Baspa Valley and reach Chitkul, the last village of India. In winter, the village is often buried in 2-3 feet of snow. Overnight stay in a cozy homestay in Chitkul or Sangla.

Day 02 :

Chitkul to Kalpa (65 KM | 3-4 HRS)

After breakfast, drive toward Kalpa. This short but scenic leg offers the most majestic views of the Kinner Kailash Range. In winter, the golden light of the sun hitting the snow-capped peaks is a photographer’s dream. Spend the evening exploring the local Kalpa monastery and the famous Suicide Point. Overnight stay in Kalpa.

Day 03 :

Kalpa to Tabo via Nako & Gue (160 KM | 7-8 HRS)

Today, enter the rain-shadow region of Spiti. Stop at Khab Bridge to see the confluence of the rivers. Visit the frozen Nako Lake and the Gue Village, home to the 500-year-old naturally preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk. Reach Tabo, often called the "Ajanta of the Himalayas," for an overnight stay in a traditional mud-house homestay.

Day 04 :

Tabo to Kaza via Dhankar (65 KM | 3-4 HRS)

Visit the 1000-year-old Tabo Monastery before heading toward Dhankar. The monastery here is perched precariously on a cliff—a sight made even more dramatic by the winter snow. Reach Kaza, the administrative capital of Spiti, by evening. Check into a heated homestay and enjoy warm local butter tea.

Day 05 :

Kaza Local – Hikkim, Komic & Langza

Explore the highest inhabited villages in the world. Visit Hikkim to post a letter, Komic to see the Tangyud Monastery, and Langza to witness the giant golden Buddha statue overlooking the snow-covered valley. The contrast of the golden statue against the white snow is the highlight of the Zoom Himachal winter tour. Return to Kaza for the night.

Day 06 :

Kaza to Kalpa (200 KM | 8-9 HRS)

Begin your return journey. The drive back offers a different perspective of the frozen landscapes you passed earlier. Retrace your path along the Spiti River, crossing the treacherous Malling Nallah. Arrive back in Kalpa by evening for a final night in the high mountains.

Day 07 :

Kalpa to Shimla Drop (225 KM | 8-9 HRS)

After breakfast, begin your final descent. Pass through the familiar towns of Rampur and Narkanda. Your Zoom Himachal driver will drop you at the Shimla Railway Station or Bus Stand by evening, concluding your epic winter survival journey.
